Welcome to Developmental Center

Welcome to the Developmental center. Services are provided for students ages 3-22 with severe special needs. Classrooms are located at Thomas Jefferson School, Developmental Center, and Manual High School. Occupational and Physical therapy offices for Dist. #150 are also housed at the Developmental center. Please call Karen Orendorff at 309 672-6594 if you have any questions about these services.

New Race and Ethnicity Standards

 The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) will use the new categories starting with data to be reported for the 2010-11 school year.

This requires school districts to re-identify race and ethnicity for all students—and the identification is to be done by parents or guardians. If a student's parents or guardians decline to indicate race and/or ethnicity, staff from Peoria Public Schools will identify both race and ethnicity, as required by law, through observer identification.
 

Parents who have enrolled in Family Access can complete this process online. The online identification process should be completed no later than March 31, 2010.

  • Click on the PARENTS page at the top of the webpage.


  • Go to ADMISSION DOCUMENTS


  • Below click on the Message Center Letter.


  • After reading the letter, click Student Race Ethnicity Directions to find out how to update your Family Access.

Adopt-A-School Partners!

We have two new Adopt-A-School Partners! The Peoria Riverplex and Jumpstart Gymnastics both adopted us in the months of October and November. Staff got to tour the Riverplex, so that we could get ideas on how we could best use their facility. In November, all the students and staff got to visit Jumpstart.  The students and staff all had a blast! We got to walk on low and high beams, climb ropes, jump on trampolines and big mats, they had something for everyone to do. Many thanks to ALL our Adopt-A-School Partners!
