Welcome to Developmental Center

Welcome to the Developmental center. Services are provided for students ages 3-22 with severe special needs. Classrooms are located at Thomas Jefferson School, Developmental Center, and Manual High School. Occupational and Physical therapy offices for Dist. #150 are also housed at the Developmental center. Please call Karen Orendorff at 309 672-6594 if you have any questions about these services.

March Madness Begins

On Tuesday march 11th, all classrooms will be attending the March Madness Experience at the Civic Center.

This Wednesday, Feb. 27, some of the staff at the Developmental Center took some of the students to the McDonald's on Knoxville for their community based instruction. We take the students out to different places every Wednesday so that these students can practice learned skill in a public location. This particular Wednesday, we were at McDonald's for breakfast when an unknown woman offered to pay for each child's meal. The staff was so astounded and thankful that someone would appreciate seeing our students out in the community. Thanks to that woman -you made our day.

Visiting

Parents, feel welcome to visit your childs classroom at any time.  Please call ahead to be sure that they are in the building and not out on  community based instruction.  We appreciate your ongoing communication and teamwork with us, whether it be by notes, calls or visits.
